Tanya Levak is a Sydney-based fashion editor and creative director. Tanya currently styles, directs and produces editorials in her role as a fashion editor for Australia’s highest-selling fashion magazine, Shop Til You Drop. Prior to that, she spent time at international publications including UK Harper’s Bazaar, Dazed and Confused and Fantastic Man, working with the likes of Vanessa Coyle and Carmen Borgonovo. During her four and half years at SHOP, Tanya has developed a strong sense of what it means to create commercially viable imagery through fashion. And for an image to be commercial, it needs to be evocative. A good fashion story is one in which all elements work together. Tanya constantly collaborates with a varied group of photographers, hair stylists and make-up artists to produce visuals that are fresh, and as different from her last shoot as possible. As well as editorials, she has a keen eye for market trends, and strong experience styling market pages, still-life and portraits. Tanya’s ability to conceptualise a vision into a reality is what enables her to execute images that are both evocative and marketable.
